Song Of The Month - September '14

Yo. This time I managed to publish an article on time. I see that I've written a lot during the last four weeks. Not. Maybe I should post some pictures instead of texts. So, this was the intro-duck-tion, let's take a look at the topic.

September began with the Berlin Music Week. It's like The New York Fashion Week, but in Berlin and more about music than fashion. There were some Festivals, like the First We Take Berlin Festival (FWTB) and the Berlin Festival. The band and their song I want to present to you played at the FWTB. And they were great. I'm talking about As Animals and their song "I See Ghost (Ghost Gunfighters)". 

The song sounds a little dramatic, but cool. Zara, the singer, has a beautiful and strong voice and in "I See Ghost" she exhausts almost all possibilities of it. Every time I listen to this song I'm tempted to sing along. And I do. But at the refrain it's getting difficult for me and I sound like hamster that gets squeezed.

It's not easy to categorize As Animals' music. There's soul, there's pop and probably even more. Also the singer has a slight french accent which sounds pretty nice.

Lied des Monats - September '14

Ha. Diesmal erscheint der Artikel pünktlich. Und, wow, ich hab diesen Monat bereits zwei veröffentlicht. Ich bin ja extrem fleißig. Okay, Einleitung abgehakt, jetzt zum eigentlichen Thema. Oder auch nicht.

Bis jetzt gab es noch keine weiblichen Stimmen in dieser Kategorie. Das muss sich ändern und das ändert sich jetzt. Ich präsentiere: As Animals. Es hat nichts damit zu tun, dass der Name an „Glass Animals“ erinnert. Ehrlich.

Anfang September fand ja die Berlin Music Week statt, dazu das First WeTake Berlin Festival (FWTB) und das Berlin Festival. Beim FWTB spielten neben Catfish and The Bottlemen, Wolfman, Zoot Woman und Fickle Friends auch As Animals.

Der Auftritt war echt toll. Zara hat eine starke Stimme, deswegen ist sie wahrscheinlich auch die Sängerin der Band. Wäre zumindest eine logische Schlussfolgerung. Außerdem hat sie auch getanzt und stand nicht wie so ein Lautsprecher auf der Bühne. Aaaaaaber ich rede hier ja vom Auftritt, nicht von dem Lied.

„I See Ghost (Ghost Gunfighters)“ ist wohl das bekannteste Lied dieser noch unbekannten französischen Band. Deswegen bekommt ihr das jetzt auch zu hören. 
Es klingt etwas dramatisch, aber nicht übertrieben. Zudem ist die Stimme echt abwechslungsreich. Mitsingen ist dadurch zwar nicht unbedingt einfach, beim Refrain klingt man ein bisschen wie ein Hamster, der zerquetscht wird, aber das Lied ist dadurch interessanter. Also durch die Abwechslung. Generell sind As Animals vielseitig (aber nicht sehr vielsaitig, haha), was die Musikrichtungen betrifft.
